An excellent, all comprehensive martial arts school with professional,expert instruction and a friendly atmosphere in a great learning environment. The instructor is great with all ages, from young children to older adults. This Dojo offers something for everyone, whether it's self-defense, fitness, Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, even periodic day camps for children and Parents' Night Out. The instructor will even do special birthday parties with a martial arts theme. In the several I attended, the children had a great time and loved every special activity, especially the cutting of the cake with a samurai sword (carefully done by the instructor). Also offered throughout the year are seminars for extra training. I highly recommend Shuhari to anyone of any age; I believe it is the best school in Sarasota by far, with the most thorough, professional instructors in a setting conducive to learning.

Excellent school. Excellent instructors and downright great group of people. I've been training here for several years now and can easily say the training is second to none. Very practical self defense, very insightful everyday philosophy and a wealth of knowledge for the taking in regards to the history, development and practical application of Martial Arts in today's world. Since Shuhari teaches both Shuri-te Ju Jitsu and Shuri-Ryu Karate, the curriculum is really well-rounded, and each art cross-trains in the other. We also get a lot of exposure and opportunities to train with some of the top martial artists in the country both at our dojo, and by travelling as a group to any number of conventions and symposiums. I love it, and look forward to training for many more years!

Hands down one of the best Karate schools in Sarasota. There is a veriety of drills and practical application that makes the school great for any age or gender.
