The Sarasota Power Squadron ( SPS ) was founded in 1952 and today is one of the largest of the USPS Squadrons, with over 300 local members. We are a totally volunteer organization. Our recently expanded and renovated Education Building is the center of our teaching efforts for all courses - to include the Boat Smart classes for the public and advanced and elective marine courses for members. Our on-the-water activities include cruises, rendezvous, navigation contests, raftings and more. Activities ashore include weekly luncheons, parties, picnics, and marine programs.
