The Rehabilitation Services Department of the Sarasota Memorial Health Care System provides rehabilitation services that promote the physical, emotional and social independence of the patient and is located in Sarasota, Fla. Therapy is provided by an integrated team of physical, occupational and therapeutic recreation therapists, speech and language pathologists, certified rehabilitation registered nurses, exercise physiologists, athletic trainers, licensed neuromuscular massage therapists, social workers, registered dietitians, case managers, psychologists and physicians. The department offers more than 30 beds and serves patients who have suffered conditions such as strokes, neurological disease and disorders of the muscles, bones and joints. It is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
