General Info
Nathan Benderson Park is a Sarasota County community park managed by the nonprofit Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates. The 600-acre park has 400 acres of water surface for rowing and paddle sports, both for competition and recreation, and for recreational fishing (from land and on water — however, gas motors are prohibited by law). There's a 3.4-mile paved trail around the competition lake with a parallel shell-covered trail, and multiple 5K run/walk routes mapped around the park. The park is host to world, national, state and regional rowing and dragon boat regattas and triathlons, but also is home to many community festivals and events, and is open daily for recreational use — whether walking, jogging, running, cycling, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, rowing or relaxing. The park's playground is a popular attraction, and the top of the Benderson Family Finish Tower — a state-of-the-art facility designed with competition in mind — is popular for sightseers.Nathan Benderson Park is a Sarasota County community park managed by the nonprofit Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates.
