My loved one was found dead on the floor while they were doing their rounds. No idea as to what happened. All I know is she was bruised and bloody yet their medical director put died of natural causes. He had never even met her! There was no autopsy done! I had witnessed her calling for someone the night before and having to wait almost an hour. Most of the CNA that came in had no idea of her medical conditions and asked me. They did not even look at her records! This place may be pretty but it is actually very cold and dark. I wish I would have looked at their reports on the health care association site before I sent her to her death place. She was only suppose t be there a couple weeks and she did not even last there a couple days. :(

Hawthorne Village of Sarasota may look beautiful on the outside but that inside reveals a very cold, untrained staff. The staff and nurses are overwhelmed. There is not enough staff nor training with the staff they do have. Very young CNA's will be with your loved ones over 80 percent of the time. They seem to have no knowledge of their health issues or charts. Safety measures and interventions are not put in place here to protect a patient with their specific needs. I would not recommend this place to someone with underlying health issues or on special diets. They simply are not trained enough to accommodate. Call lights go unanswered for long periods of time. I witnessed 45 minutes while I was there. Please do not put your loved ones in this facility until safety concerns are addressed and they train their staff more. Please do not be fooled by other reviews. This place has only been open a couple years and most of those reviews were made by staff that works there as you can plainly see on their social media page. I also witnessed wrong meds almost being handed out. Things need to change here for the sake of all the residents safety!

I have toured this brand new facility, and it is beautiful. Very upscale, clean and modern with high quality amenities and state of the art rehabilitation technology.
