Appleton & Associates is a firm of architects, established in 1976, and has offices in Santa Monica and Santa Barbara, Calif. It specializes in the planning and design of custom residential, institutional and commercial projects, for both private and public clients. Its projects include new constructions, additions, and restorations. Its work draws upon the traditions of vernacular architecture, reinterpreting them to evoke a presence of the past. This approach to its work allows its projects to merge with their sites and context, in both rural and urban settings. Appleton & Associates has received several awards, including Architectural Digest s Top 100 Architects and Designers.
