Cultivating Academic Excellence and Independent Thinkers

General Info

NM Academy of International Studies is a model for what elementary education should be. It is a warm and wonderful alternative program created in a home environment. We design our curricula integrating what is known about how humans learn and how the mind absorbs and processes information. We do not seek to fit the child to a specific philosophy or pedagogy; we fit the philosophy to the child. A major part of our mission is to create life long enthusiasm for the pursuit of knowledge and to transfer the individualized skills necessary for processing new and existing information. Our school is a place of joy. We believe that is what a school should be.

New Mexico Academy of International Studies is anchored in the five pillars of education: academics (IQ), social/emotional development (EQ), creativity, international studies (cultural competencies) and lifelong learning skills. We design our curricula integrating what is known about how students learn and how the mind absorbs and processes information. Our mission is to create lifelong enthusiasm for the pursuit of knowledge by teaching critical thinking skills, effective communication and the fundamentals of science, math, language, literature, history, technology, and art in a culture of creativity and through immersion in the various cultures of the world.
