We invite you to feed, soothe, and change your baby as needed during class

Postures are practiced to align, strengthen, and promote flexibility in the body. Additional breathing techniques and meditation are also commonly practiced. Each of our instructors shapes the focus, pace, and structure of the practice with their unique teaching style. All Levels is an intermediate paced class that is also appropriate for students who have been practicing for at least one year. Alternative poses will be suggested during class so that students can tailor the practice to match their comfort and level of experience
- MELTThis class is open to everyone and will integrate Melt Method® techniques to work with the fascia and nervous system to gain greater stability, flexibility and mobility. The pace is medium slow to invite awareness of body and breath and to encourage a deep sense of calm for the mind and nervous system. This class is a great fit for individuals with chronic pain, injuries or just who want to enhance their sense of ease and wellbeing

- Prenatal YogaPrenatal yoga focuses on developing strength and flexibility, learning how to relax, and increasing breath awareness in order to experience a comfortable pregnancy, and prepare for birth and recovery. Moms-to-be with little or no yoga experience as well as those with an existing yoga practice are equally welcome. Many of the teachers at Luma have experience teaching pregnant women and will accommodate expecting mothers in any class. The prenatal classes, however, are specifically designed to address the unique physical and energetic needs of women who are either trying to conceive or currently pregnant
- Yin/Yang YogaThis class is an enthusiastic full-spectrum yoga practice including attention to breath, movement, and alignment. Each class combines a complementary ratio of attention to flexibility, strength and balance with encouragement for the student to exercise inner intuition and follow breath to guide their practice. Drawing from Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine, each class will be appropriately adjusted to natural forces such as season, time of day, and current atmosphere. Classes often include: gentle warm-ups with qi gong exercises, sun or moon salutations, sound anatomical alignment refinement using props, chakra and channel alignment, gentle breath work, and meditation
- Breath, Form & FlowThis is a medium-hard class with a focus on breath (beyond just the mention of it), integrity of form (posture), and flow (transitions) - all in order to develop an awareness of purpose that then informs our practice, and by association, our lives off the mat. Let's make each practice count, while maintaining a strong sense of humor/wonder. Students should have at least one year of prior yoga experience

Crawler + Me yoga class enables the parent or childcare provider to practice yoga in a supportive environment. Squirmy, exploring babies are incorporated into the class through interactive exercises and songs. It only sounds impossible, we promise! This 50-minute class is appropriate for any level of yoga experience. Beginners welcome!

- Candlelight FlowCandlelight Intuitive Flow & Pranayama: Under the soothing glow of candlelight, this All Levels class is designed to open the heart, strengthen the body, and ground the soul as you challenge the edges of your practice while discovering steadiness and ease. Our breath-led asana practice will support your intuitive development and encourage you to trust your own rhythm. With the offer of modifications and variations throughout the class, you will be invited to explore and meet your body in each moment and surrender to the alignment of who you are with every breath. Each class will include an introduction to pranayama (breath work) and fully support the dynamics between movement, strength, stillness, and acceptance as a gateway to releasing tension and stress, and renewing the soul
- New Mom + Baby ConnectionGet together with other new moms in a group setting facilitated by our lactation specialists to explore and discuss the tips and tricks of successful breastfeeding and much more. Everyone is welcome no matter how you feed your baby. Our weekly meetings on Thursday from 1:30 - 2:30 pm are fun and interactive and offer a great opportunity for new moms to build lasting relationships. Our facilitators are Virginia and Vanessa, two mothers, lactation specialists, doulas, and active peer counselors with the Nursing Mothers Counsel
- Gentle YogaThis class is a less strenuous beginner's yoga class. Those students who have trouble getting up and down from the floor will be accommodated with exercises adapted to sitting in a chair. Gentle yoga is appropriate for anyone. The pace is slow and the instruction offers a tender approach to the postures
- PlaygroupDrop in or reserve space in advance for our Luma Playgroup sessions. Parents are invited to join their children in the childcare room for lightly structured fun with other parents and their little ones. Activities may include daily art projects, puzzle work, play with wooden toys, number/color/word games, song & dance time with musical instruments, reading, circle time, and creative movement. Babies and Children Crawling up to 3 years of age are welcome. Parents stay with children to enjoy bonding through play, model healthy interactions, and to get to know the childcare staff
- Postpartum Health CircleAre you craving a welcoming community and nurturing conversation after the birth of your baby? We know that becoming a parent comes with as many challenges as blessings; and that it is imperative for women to have a supportive, non-judgmental, confidential place to talk about the issues they face. Each week, we will provide engaging and relevant postpartum topics for discussion, professional facilitation, postpartum resources, and gentle guidance where appropriate. The circle is intended to provide a safe and supportive space for you to cultivate connection with other mothers, gain insight into the true spectrum of postpartum changes, relearn taking care of yourself, gain confidence in your parenting, and reflect upon who you are as a mother. It is offered by a rotation of graduates of Luma Yoga's Teacher Training Program.
