I don't know where my compassion for animals came from exactly, but I am so grateful to feel such a close bond with all animals and nature. My very first pet was a cat when I was 4 years old. My parents took me to the local shelter and I asked for the next cat who was going to be put to sleep, because no home was found for it. Again, I don't know how I understood about that at such a young age, but it has been with me ever since. I have been rescuing and fostering animals (and birds and fish) all my life and always I have been someone who people call upon to take care of their animals. I am also a very strong advocate for animal rights. I provide pet sitting services in your home for: cats & dogs, caged pets (birds, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, mice/rats), some reptiles, fish (including Koi), some farm animals (chickens, horses, goats, sheep, etc.). Visits to your home last a minimum of 1.5+ hours from the time I arrive. I usually do 2 visits/day, morning and evening, if cats and small dogs. If there are large dogs, I can visit 3 times/day for a small extra charge. While there I will feed, water, cuddle and play with your pet(s). Dogs will get a 1 hour minimum morning and evening walk. These walks can include dog parks and other local dog-friendly areas and beaches. In addition, I will collect your mail and newspapers, turn on/off any lights, put out trash cans/recycling bins, and water your plants if you wish. Having me come to your home helps keep your pets(s) on their normal schedule and in their normal environment. Plus, it keeps your house looking "lived in" while you're away. Sorry, I do not do overnight stays. However, if it is an emergency, please feel free to contact me to discuss. If I can't help you, I may know someone who can! *Additional fees may be charged for services rendered outside my regular route area (which is Aptos, Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley) - as well, for administering medications, watering a large number of plants or for other requested services that are time consuming. But, I'd love to help!
