General Info

Ferrotec USA Corporation is a subsidiary of Ferrotec Corporation, which was established in 1980 and is a public company that has manufacturing, sales and service facilities worldwide. The company specializes in magnetic fluid technology and is a supplier to many technology companies worldwide. Magnetic fluids were developed by NASA and, in 1968, Ferrotec's subsidiary in the United States was founded to develop the technology and discover commercial applications for it. Common applications for this technology include vacuum seals and computer seals. Ferrotec also designs and manufactures thermoelectric modules, small, solid-state devices that rely on the Peltier effect to cool or heat when an electrical current is passed through it. Thermoelectric modules are expanding Ferrotec's business in to new markets, such as medical, automotive, telecommunications and home electronics. In 2002, the company acquired Technosilicon Corporation. Ferrotec USA maintains offices in Bedford, N.H.
