Byington Steel Treating is a full-service heat-treating facility serving the Bay area and Northern California. The company has more than 20 employees, and operates 24-hours a day with a fleet of trucks for pickups and delivery within the Bay area. Byington Steel Treating treats semifinished metal parts to exact specifications. The company employs a team of craftsmen with experience in various phases of heat-treating. In addition, each Byington plant operator is cross-trained on the various kinds of equipment. The company has been in service since 1952, and is certified by the United States government. It offers diverse heat-treating capabilities, such as vacuum and atmosphere-endothermic capabilities, tool steel hardening, aging, subzero and retort processing. It also provides carburizing, nitriding, aluminum heat treating, deep freezing, induction and flame hardening, annealing, cyaniding, stress relieving, straightening, degreasing, sandblasting, vapor honing, and rotoblasting.
