We believe that all young children are capable of caring deeply about all forms of life and, consequently, that it is our responsibility as a staff to promote and nurture children's relationships with the natural world. These values and beliefs are central to our program at Cathedral Oaks Nursery School, an official Green Care Provider School, a place where the natural and built environments are integrated and harmonious, where the teaching process embraces the wonder of all things living, and where every individual shares responsibility for the well being of the Earth and all its inhabitants. Cathedral Oaks Nursery School provides an educational environment that focuses on all aspects of a child's development - social, emotional, cognitive and physical. -Where staff are valued for their vision, their delight in children, their knowledge, skill and their commitment to families. As a school we are committed to respecting our resources, reducing our footprint on the planet, and encouraging children to use ecologically sound principles both in and outside the school. Since the school's inception in the l980's, nature and the environment have been a part of our curriculum. Our children are encouraged to take note of the plant and animal life that surrounds us and to treat them with respect.
