The Sandusky Fire Department is a full-service public safety agency that works to protect the lives and property of residents through fire suppression, advanced and basic life support, code enforcement and hazardous material response. It also undertakes scuba, trench, high-angle, structural collapse and confined space rescue services. The department works to serve more than 30,000 residents living in an area of over 14 square miles. The Sandusky Fire Department is comprised of nearly 55 career firefighters who respond from various fire stations. It has training, fire prevention and public education bureaus. The department houses a fleet of engines, ambulances, ladders, heavy rescue and support vehicles. The Sandusky Fire Department is located in Sandusky, Ohio
