My mother was in Hayes for 3 plus weeks before she passed away. This a very caring facility. .very home -like in its looks. Awesome LVN's & aides. The only insensitive person in the facility is the admissions person. .ONLY cares about 'the bottom line'. When my mother was being signed up for hospice, she claimed she had just come from my mother's room where she found my mother 'free of pain & happy'.We knew she didn't have a clue about who my mother was and could have cared less. Shame on her! Someone who works in a home such as this should be more compassionate!

My Dad was 93 and we were unable to care for him. In addition, he was being discharged from the hospital and needed rehab. I had heard great things about their rehab facility, and this info was backed up by the physician for whom I work. So, as difficult as it was to put him in a nursing home, we decided on Hays Nursing Center. We did find that the rehab center was wonderful, and the people very friendly. Nursing Homes are never like home, no matter what, and there were still many tears shed over the fact that he had to be there, but they did their best to make the best of a difficult situation. If we had a problem, they were quick to deal with our concerns.

My mother in law is a resident, She has advanced dementia and she is the happiest she has been in years, Her physical health also is better than it has been. The building may not be the newest or prettiest, but the care inside is what counts. She is always clean and in nice clothes, she has her hair and nails done weekly. The staff is awesome and they are always helpful with a smiling face. We bfrequently take our dogs 65 &85lbs to visit the residents love them as does my Mother in law. In the past she would not socialize , now they have her singing, playing games and leading art class.We are very happy and we love that they care for her so.
