Phoebe Apperson Hearst: California's Grande Dame, a new exhibition in the History Center's museum, presented in collaboration with The Hearst Corporation, features the life and philanthropy of Phoebe Apperson Hearst, mother of W. R. Hearst. The History Center’s mission is to promote the understanding and appreciation of San Luis Obispo County’s historical and cultural heritage. The History Center collects, preserves, and exhibits historic artifacts, records, images, and documents and provides access to its collections in both traditional and digital forms for research, study, and educational purposes.
