General Info
An annual physical examination is essential for the long term well-being of all your pets. This allows us to prevent many diseases or treat diseases in the early stages before they become life threatening. Geriatric animals may require more frequent exams. Also, if your pet is exhibiting any signs or behaviors which are unusual, consult your veterinarian as soon as possible. Exotic pets such as parrots, reptiles, rabbits, and rodents should have annual examinations to ensure proper health and care. A new pet should be taken to your veterinarian as soon as possible. Preventative care is as important in these pets as it is for dogs and cats. At Wildwood Veterinary Hospital, we emphasize client education along with the annual examination to provide the best health care for your pets, Vaccines are a necessary part of preventative health care for your dog and cat. A comprehensive examination of your pet and the pet's life style help to determine which vaccinations are needed and at what interval for each pet. Although we emphasize preventative care, we are available for emergency care should the need arise. Our in-house laboratory provides rapid results to allow us to diagnose your pet's problem and begin appropriate care as quickly as possible. We have complete facilities for hospitalization of our patients. In critical cases when 24 hour care is needed, we work in conjunction with the United Emergency Animal Clinic and local veterinary specialists to provide your pet the best possible care. We are a full service hospital with state-of-the-art equipment for surgery and patient monitoring. Most surgeries your pet may need can be performed at our facility. Occasionally a pet has a special need and a certified veterinary surgeon is consulted. We do not provide professional grooming, but baths and dips are available. We provide the necessary grooming on your exotic pets. We have complete indoor boarding facilities available for dogs, cats, and exotics. Dogs and cats are required to have current vaccinations, including Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines for dogs. Exotic pets need to be current on exams and necessary labwork.
