We had the unfortunate situation to work with Amelia Spencer and her 'business' Mother's Nest in early 2017. Our family needed someone to be with my grandmother while she was waiting for a convalescent home. Amelia required a $1500 retainer for x amount of days. After utilizing her service for two nights, then cancelled, we were promised a full refund of close to $1000 within 30 days. I called on day 29 asking the status of the refund and Amelia became so irate she literally hung up on me.I called weeks later to ask the status and was given another date before she began yelling again and hung up on me. This pattern continued for months...until we reached out to KGO's 7 On Your Side. After another few months, multiple emails and phone calls with KGO reaching out to Amelia, we received a PARTIAL refund. When we attempted to deposit the check it bounced due to insignificant funds and we were charged the fees.She finally sent the equivalent of a cashiers check for much less than we agreed upon. This woman doesn't have the professionalism to work with customers, will blatantly lie to you, then scream at you without notice while having a logical fact driven conversation.You've been warned. Good luck finding a care provider - I know this is a difficult time for you.
