The San Jose Civic is managed and operated by San Jose Theaters, a division of Team San Jose. Built in 1936, it is a Spanish Mission style dual-level venue that hosts a variety of events including concerts from major touring artists, as well as a variety of other events (e.g. big-name comedians, sporting events, business conferences). A major, multi-million dollar renovation led to a grand re-opening of the Civic in October, 2012. From December of 2013 through May of 2019, its name was City National Civic, after which the name reverted to San Jose Civic. The Who kicked off their first headlining tour of the U.S. there in 1968. This historic venue has also hosted The Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Barbra Streisand and many more.
