Chavez Supermarket is a full-service chain of department stores that specializes in Mexican and Latin American products. It provides a variety of meats, fresh produce, baked goods and everyday grocery items. The chain s meat items include beef, chicken, pork and an array of seafood selections. Its grocery items include jalapenos, tortillas, salsas, beans and rice. Chavez Supermarket also offers a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, including papaya, mangoes, tomatoes, avocados, corn and chili peppers. Additionally, it provides a range of cooked food items that includes tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tamales and enchiladas. The chain was founded in 1984 by David Chavez and maintains a location in San Jose, Calif.
