Jefferson Middle School, governed by the San Gabriel Unified School District, serves students in grades six through eight. The school s curriculum includes English, art, math, music, social studies, science, and physical and special education. Founded in 1994, Jefferson Middle School serves more than 1,000 students. It provides special education, health and guidance counseling services. The school operates a parent-teacher organization that participates in fundraising and student welfare activities. In addition, the school organizes sports programs, such as basketball, volleyball and softball. Jefferson Middle School administers the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program.
