Edgewood Kinship Program is a community-based program that serves grandparents and other relatives who are raising grandchildren and other young family members. Located in San Francisco, the program also serves children who suffer from abandonment due to the parents substance abuse, psychological disorders and incarceration. It provides a wide range of services to help elderly caregivers and the children they are caring for, including early childhood support, after school classes and tutoring, independent living skills, and mental and behavioral health services and referrals. The program is designed to help children, enabling them to stay on-track in school and develop skills for independent living.
