Dana B. McQueen, MD, is an obstetrician/gynecologist who provides expert prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care, as well as comprehensive gynecological care. She is part of the maternity care team at UC San Diego Healths Hillcrest location, where low-risk mothers and babies can plan for deliveries at UC San Diego Medical Center. In addition to general obstetrics care, Dr. McQueen has expertise in treating women who experience recurrent pregnancy loss.She also provides well woman visits, family planning, and treatment for issues such as abnormal Pap smears, fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, gynecological infections or sexually transmitted diseases.As an assistant professor in the Department of Reproductive Medicine, Dr. McQueen instructs students and residents at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She has co-authored numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed articles, and her work has appeared in Fertility and Sterility and Human Reproduction.Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. McQueen was an instructor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago.She completed a fellowship in recurrent pregnancy loss at University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System, and a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University of Chicago, where she was elected as chief resident. Dr. McQueen earned her medical degree with distinction in research from UC Irvine School of Medicine and also holds a masters degree in clinical research from UC San Diego.
