Established in 2000, Bay Area Legal Aid is one of the largest providers of free civil legal services in the Bay Area. The firm offers services in a wide variety of areas, such as housing, domestic violence, public benefits, health access, evictions, social security, Medi-Cal, and domestic violence. Founded by the San Francisco Neighborhood Legal Assistance Foundation, Contra Costa Legal Services Foundation and Community Legal Services, it serves more than 20,000 clients every year, and employs over 80 attorneys. Legal Advice Line, Bay Area's centralized legal services telephone system, provides long distance communication and scheduling appointments. Bay Area Legal Aid has branch offices in offices Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Santa Clara, San Francisco and San Mateo, Calif.
