Alexander's stocks 50,000 new books on three floors and is the largest independent bookstore in SOMA and the Financial District and only four blocks from Union Square, opened in 1990. We stock a broad range of categories, especially featuring Literature/Fiction, Mysteries, Children's, Travel, African-American Fiction, Cooking, Graphic Design, Animation, Illustration and Fashion. We offer a frequent buyer program and many sale books and a 25% discount on all adult hardcover fiction . We can order any book in-print in the U.S.. If you're looking for a present for a booklover in your life, we have gift cards available and also offer free gift-wrapping. Many books and E-books can be ordered off our website, www.alexanderbook.com. Our website also provides on-hand stock status and the location in our store. We offer many more books off our website than we have room for in our store. If we don't have a particular book on our selves currently it will typically say "ships in 1-5 days."
