Yuko Kono, MD, is a hepatologist with a a special interest in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) surveillance, diagnosis, management, general hepatology and liver transplantation. She is an expert in contrast enhanced ultrasound imaging. Dr. Kono's clinical research is focused on contrast enhanced ultrasound imaging, particularly in tumor diagnosis and assessment of tumor response to treatment as well as HCC surveillance program.Dr. Kono received her medical degree and completed her residency and fellowship at Kyoto University in Kyoto, Japan. Her medical training includes general hepatology, interventional radiology, liver biopsy, abdominal ultrasound, percutaneous alcohol injection (PEI) and transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) for hepatocellular carcinoma patients.
