  John J. Abbene received a Bachelor of Arts degree, with High Distinction, majoring in economics, from the University of Virginia in 1976, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Abbene received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1979. He is an active member of the State Bar of California and practiced law in the District of Columbia and Virginia before moving to California in 1988. Mr. Abbene practices in the areas of corporations and business law, employee benefit and retirement plans, including 401(k) plans, real estate, health care law and taxation. Mr. Abbene is a member of the State Bar of California sections on business law, taxation and real property law. He is also a member of the Western Pension and Benefits Conference.
