I love this place. I go there 2-3 times a month and bring all my friends and family when they come into town. I love their soup and their broken rice dishes and their spring rolls are to die for. Service is great. It is a place you can go to eat and relax with your friends and family and never feel rushed to leave.

MY FAVORITE VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT!!!

This is my all time favorite Vietnamese restaurant in San Diego. They have an extensive menu as well as a huge selection of vegetarian entrees. Some of my favorite dishes are the Roasted Catfish (can't find anything like it in SD), the 7 Courses of Beef (big enough for 2), and the Vietnamese Crepe. I love all the fresh veggies and herbs that accompanied these dishes. Winners of the vegetarian entrees include the Lemongrass Tofu (crispy on the outside, ooey gooey inside) and Vegetarian Stir-Fried Udon. The staff are very helpful if you need help with the menu (they speak English) and they're always packed (which is a good sign, especially in this economy).

keep your date

If you want to ruin your date, this is your place. i took my girlfriend here (i'm chinese and she is vietnamese), as soon as she saw the sign "phuong trang", she asked me if we could go to other places. we chose International Restaurant (Quoc Te) a block a way, it was all good. I later found out how bad it was at Phuong Trang, after my girl friend explain about vietnamese cookings.

best vietnamese in town

I've been going to Phuong Trang for years & have recommended this place to all my friends, family, and colleagues. The food is absolutely amazing. Definite favorites include spring rolls, egg rolls, roasted catfish, special sauce lobster, and the sizzling beef cubed steak. They also have a page dedicated to vegetarians which my best friend is grateful for. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, the service is quick and efficent, and the prices are a dream!!!

Notably good service experience, and the best Pho you can ever have!

Every time I go to Phuong Tran, I always get the Egg Rolls. They are extremely delicious. The combinations of flavors in them are exquisite. Everything always tastes extraordinary!
