We LOVED the location because you are so close to everything and you can walk everywhere. There was a grocery store a couple blocks down along with coffee shops, restaurants and shopping! It was such a pleasure meeting Mike & Linda! They are so warm and inviting that you feel you have known them forever! You feel loved and taken care of by them! Whatever you need they are there for you. They are truly genuine and happy to help you!

My sister & I stayed at Mudville Flats and we absolutely LOVED it! The room is beautiful, charming, inviting, cozy and serene. It feels like you're at home but it's so much nicer than your own! The bed is HUGE and so cozy, we slept so peacefully. We also felt very safe staying here! We were amazed because everything we needed was in this room. You have a kitchen with pots & pans, stove, microwave, a fridge, utensils and more! We loved having this kitchen because it saved us so much money on food! We loved the closet space and it had a beautiful mirror so you can see your outfit. They had extra blankets, plenty of towels and a makeup mirror. There was not one thing missing from this room! We picked up dinner from this yummy place called Kebabs. We brought it back to our room and ate it at the dining room table. It was so fun!!!

My husband and I came to San Diego for a conference and although the conference attendees were staying at the Hilton by the water--we chose to stay at Mudville Flats!! We have stayed here on two other occasions and we are happier with each visit. Nothing can beat the hospitality shown by Linda and Mike. They are always so helpful and friendly. I feel an instant comfort when I walk in the doors of the beautiful "home like" suites. The beds are the best and the rooms are so comfortable. A fully equipped kitchen and a perfect sun porch to catch up on some R&R. Everything is within walking distance- great restaurants, wonderful food and perfect places in the Gaslamp Quarter to enjoy a beer and people watch along with great shopping. They even offer a discount to go to a great gym about three blocks away-which I didn't get to visit because I couldn't get enough of just going for morning runs along the waterfront and downtown San Diego.

My wife and I stayed at this precious inn last week for six nights. The accommodations are superb. The king-sized bed is amazingly comfortable. The ambiance is a nice mix of Craftsman style, baseball memorabilia, and Zen. This is a great combination for Easterners, one artist and one baseball fan, who live in a Craftsman style bungalow with lots of Buddhas. The efficient kitchen allowed an occasional break from restaurant fare. The proprietors, Linda and Mike, are friendly and most helpful. Their enthusiasm for San Diego is contagious. They live on sight and are readily available. The location is walking distance from terrific restaurants. The private parking was definitely an asset. We were easy driving distance for everything we wanted to see including the Zoo, Coronado Island, La Jolla, Torrey Pines and more. Mudville Flats is a short drive to the airport, an added convenience. I had high expectations given the reviews I read. Even those expectations were exceeded.

We found this awesome place on Trip Advisor and am so thankful we did. This was my first time ever to California and Mudville Flats is the perfect spot to stay if you want to fall in love with San Diego!!! The Flat was perfect--had ALL the comforts of home, the cozy kitchen, the spacious bathroom, the WONDERFULLY comfortable bed and the soothing leather sofa with all the cute lamps!!! Linda was the GREAT!!! She was very informative about each and everything about the room and informed us of all types of places to see/eat and visit. Since we were only there for 2 nights and 1 day--of course we didn't even get to see near as much as we'd like--but that is okay as it gives us a reason to revisit and stay in the heart of San Diego and the warmth and convenience that Mudville Flat offers. San Diego is one hugh playground and one that I dream of coming back to continue playing in again someday in our near future. Thank you Linda and Mike!!!! You are a wonderful people living in a wonderful pa

We stayed at the Mudville Flats for 8 nights over New Years Eve 2011. We arrived early on our check-in date and so we took the time we had to check the nearest surroundings. Only a few blocks away youll find the famous Gaslamp Quarter, a historic district where you can shop and in our case have breakfast. The flats itself offer a unique experience. They are really cozy and you see the efforts Linda and Mike put into their apartments in every detail. The rooms are clean, the bed is great and the kitchen with all its appliances gives you a great chance to keep your vacation reasonably priced (a supermarket is in walking distance) :). If you need anything during your stay, Linda and Mike help you out wherever they can. We had a perfect time in San Diego and would recommend the Mudville Flats for a great San Diego experience!

We stayed at Mudville Flats for 3 nights in March 2012. We chose it due to the location, the (free) secure parking and because we'd rather stay in small independent places if possible. We were really pleased with our choice and would definitely stay here again. It's in the East Village and within walking distance of the Gaslamp district, the downtown shopping areas, the baseball stadium and the sea. We used the car to visit Coronado and the zoo but you could easily get around without a car staying here. The owner Mike was there to welcome us and had loads of useful information and tips on good local restaurants and bars. The accommodation itself was great, we had Flat A (on the ground floor) and it was really clean and spacious and had a nice, personalised touch that you just don't get in hotels. Overall we loved it and would recommend it.
