General Info

Dr. Afshar, board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, joined Dermatologist Medical Group of North County in 2016. Dr. Afshar is a native of California. She received her medical degree from King’s College London. Dr. Afshar completed her medical internship at Loma Linda University. She did a Psoriasis Research Fellowship and Dermatology residency at the University of California San Diego, where she served as Chief Dermatology Resident. Dr. Afshar has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and received the Beiersdorf Resident of Distinction Award and was a finalist for the Medelita “The Right” Fit H.E.R.O. (Honoring Excellent Resident Observations) for her work. Dr. Afshar’s interests include medical (psoriasis, acne, eczema, warts, skin cancer), surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Afshar has a special interest in volunteer work and has served as a medical volunteer in San Diego, Europe, and Kenya. Currently seeing patients at our Oceanside office
