Leah D. Kern, MD, MPH, is a board-certified pediatrician who provides primary care for children of all ages. She leads the pediatric travel medicine program, which provides medical advice and vaccinations for children traveling internationally.Before joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Kern lived and worked in West Africa for four years. As an assistant professor of pediatrics at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Kern has been involved in UC San Diego Ethiopia Project to enhance the prevention, care, and treatment of pregnant women and children with HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia.She completed her residency at Childrens National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
