Grant Elementary School, located in San Diego, offers academic services to students in grades kindergarten through seven. Its curriculum includes language arts, English, mathematics, history, science and visual arts. In addition, it provides more than 180 minutes of math and science enrichment classes each week in its laboratories. The school provides physical activities that include soccer, basketball and gymnastics. The school organizes various events and fun activities for its students, including jump rope for heart, jog-a-thon, bicycle rodeo and sports day. Grant Elementary School s parent-teacher association involves parents in classroom activities, publishing of the monthly Grant Slant newsletter, arranging visual and art programs during school and coordinating the Thursday Kids Club, which provides enrichment classes for students after school. It also encourages parents to volunteer as readers, tutors and chaperones at school events.
