Great organic section. Would like even more options
My favorite grocercy store even though they do not carry everything I want I still love it! Best salsa and chips in all of SD maybe. Recommendations are: cinnamon rolls in the refrigerated section, sell french bread (big non sliced loafs), and start carrying Red Hook IPA 6 packs so I can stop going to the place down the street!
great value. good little local grocery store! I like the produce. the meat counter is not bad .. and they take SDG&E payment, if you need that.
This market is the BEST place to get your Mexican style meats (carne asada, pork and chicken pre-marinated). Also the produce is so cheap and local, you cant go wrong!!! Shop here all the time, especially for barbeques.
What's not to love about cheap prices, respectful employees, and amazing meat? Food Bowl has it all! Whenever my buddies and I have a BBQ this is my one stop shop for all the necessities. Also, have some of their street tacos from the guy at the outdoor taco stand, they're bomb!
I love Food Bowl! They have some legit homemade salsas (that save me when I am too lazy to make my own), store-made corn chips (yum yum yum) and a carniceria. I took a pound of pollo preparado to try and it was delicious and perfect for my pollo asado tacos. Ahhh
Love food Bowl. Cheap meat and produce. Has all those hard to find Mexican ingredients that you can't get in the regular grocery store. The staff is very friendly. Never really crowded either. Much cleaner and nicer than many of the other independently owned grocery stores in the South Park/Golden Hill area.
Been going here a long time as I've lived in the neighborhood now 13 years. Have always been a huge fan of the homeade corn chips and salsas/guacamole they sell. (anybody out there brave enough to tackle the habanero salsa?) Recently the meat department started making/selling pre-packaged cowboy burgers 2 to a package. These burgers are the bomb!! They have very little fat-grill nice-don't break/flake. They are good, lean beef stuffed w/green chilies, cheese, etc. They also make burgers stuffed with blue cheese and scallions, too. The meat department is great-I buy all my chicken there and the steaks and pork are all really good, too.
