The bureau, also known as FPB, operates a program to assists the men and women between the ages of 18 and 25 to become firefighters. Its administration unit offers a range of support services. The administration unit also provides information related to fire code inspections for buildings and other projects. The Oakland Fire Department offers a range of emergency management and medical services. The department conducts various urban search and rescue operations. The Oakland Fire Department is operated by the government of the City of Oakland.
