- Headaches
- Irritable Bowel SyndromePsychologists and psychiatrists are available to treat stress-related disorders such as migraine and tension headache, chronic jaw pain, back pain, PTSD due to motor vehicle accidents and irritable bowel syndrome. In addition, general stress management is taught.
- ElectrocardiogramThis application consists of two virtual environments: 1) a virtual elevator and 2) a virtual cable car, that allow people with Acrophobia to be exposed to fearful situations related to heights. In each VR world, the therapist can present the patient with multiple stimuli as well as controlling the movement of the elevator or cable car. Real-time Bio-feedback provides the therapist with all of the patient’s vitals, including heart rate, respiration, skin conductance, temperature, electroencephalogram (EEG), and electrocardiogram (ECG). The optional head mount display (HMD) is equipped with a head tracker that detects the patient’s head rotations and position while navigating through the virtual world. During VR exposure therapy, the client stands on a custom built platform equipped with rails and a fan used to simulate tactile conditions of riding an outdoor elevator or cable car. Two speakers are mounted on the platform to facilitated immersion through audio stimuli.
- Internal MedicineThere is a psychiatrist available at the Los Angeles clinic who can prescribe medication to patients who are pursuing that treatment option. Though the therapists at the other clinics do have doctorates in psychology, they are not medical doctors and cannot prescribe medication to you. However, the therapists at each clinic have close ties to psychiatrists and internal medicine specialists in the area and can refer you to those professionals should you wish.
- Stress ManagementFor the past 25 years, Virtual Reality Medical Center (VRMC) has successfully treated patients using Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET). In most cases, we offer the treatments in combination with cognitive behavioral therapy and biosensors (biofeedback). We specialize in treating phobias, anxiety (including pre-surgical anxiety), stress and pain. Conditions treated include specific phobias such as fear of flying, fear of heights, fear of public speaking, claustrophobia, agoraphobia, panic disorder, fear of driving, fear of needles and posttraumatic stress disorder due to motor vehicle accidents. General stress management and relaxation skills are taught for stress-related disorders. At VRMC-Coronado, treatment for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder due to military deployment is offered using VR in combination with biofeedback and individual psychotherapy.
- Mental HealthFortunately, through research supported by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and by industry, effective treatments have been developed to help people with panic disorder.

- MRIOne of the most common signs of claustrophobia is an individual's refusal to ride in an enclosed elevator. Other common claustrophobic fears include closets, tunnels, airplanes, and certain medical testing machinery, such as magnetic resonance imaging, hyperbaric oxygen treatment, and computed tomography scan.
