Daniel Synkowski, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who sees adult patients with general dermatology needs and performs minor surgery.As an associate professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Synkowski trains residents and medical students in clinical dermatology. His research interests have included: early estrogen carcinogenesis, characterizing the inflammatory infiltrate in cutaneous lupus lesions, urticaria and urticarial vasculitis, frequency of squamous cell cancer in clinical actinic keratosis, and a clinical study of six psoriasis patients on Raptiva.Before joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Synkowski worked with the Sharp Medical Group from 2000 to 2012. He was chief of dermatology at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center in Florida and worked in private practice in Baltimore from 1984 to 1997. Prior to those positions, he served on the faculty at Johns Hopkins University from 1979 to 1984.Dr. Synkowski completed at fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore and a residency at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He is board-certified in dermatology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), and a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
