What can i say ! Nothing nice the place is the worst skilled nursing place you can find always understaffed nursing staff is nice but they dont have enough help, the social service girl is never available told she is over in the assisted side of the building never responds or returns my call my mother puts he light on and it takes up to an hr at times for them to help her. The food is so, so but never hot and not what she ordered . I would never have a loved one ever go there again . Iam not sure what happened to the place it was nicer last year what happened ? Lots of different staff too.

I had my father there a few months ago for rehab ...The staff was nice but not enough staff . Food was Always Cold IF you ate in your room and my father never Got what he ordered... The social service director was wonderful and really helped our family, she and the nursing director almost live there , without Them it would be a big loss and i dont think we wound take my father back there without those two ....

I would wholeheartedly recommend Emeritus at Carmel Valley to anyone. My father (grudgingly) was admitted there for short term rehab and nursing care and he actually ended up liking it. Of course home is better, but the nurses were very kind and competent. I work in healthcare and this is one of the best nursing/rehab centers I have seen. We were treated much better at Emeritus than at UCSD/Thornton Hospital.

Terrible care for my father. His incisions became infected. He needed to be taken to the emergency room from this facility for dehydration. He fell out of his wheel chair. All this happened the first week he was there! Do not let your loved ones stay there!
