Located in San Antonio, STRAC, also known as the Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council, is an organization that assists in the development, implementation and operation of a comprehensive trauma care system. The organization operates an injury prevention committee that provides educational sessions related to trauma awareness and prevention. It also supports a prehospital care committee that offers transportation options and sets up medical and patient care protocols. In addition, STRAC operates a hospital care and management committee that assists with rehabilitation, specialty care and legal issues. Additionally, the organization supports a performance improvement committee and hospital disaster group. It also operates education and trauma coordinators committees.
