- OrthodonticsMiriam grew up in a military family and spent most of her youth in Germany and Europe. She is a native born German and speaks it fluently. While attending UTSA, Miriam was given the opportunity to work as an Orthodontic Assistant by her former Orthodontist. This is where she found her calling for Orthodontics and love for interacting with people of all ages. After 13 years in the profession, she opted for a change and put her degree to good use by becoming a preschool teacher. Teaching helped her realize the importance of patience and being a good listener for both children and their parents so that expectations are properly communicated. Miriam re-entered the field (and out of early retirement) to join the Mission Orthodontics family 4 years ago. When she was approached with the opportunity to be treatment coordinator, it was right up her alley. Miriam’s goal is to ensure patients leave with more knowledge and confidence
