My Grandmother was at Meridian Care from April to August. First for rehab then as a resident. She was treated like family there. The staff would pop in often to check on her, to ask if we needed anything and just to say HI. Everyone was so warm and friendly - we all felt at home there. When she was sent to the hospitals we were always anxious to have her return because she received better care there than at the hospitals! The activities were fun, I liked that they had Sunday worship and that staff, even management knew the residents by name. I have nothing but love for everyone there!
Able to participate. I understand the facility does this every year and uses money collected for residents activities. It's just amazing to learn that in your own backyard people this sick can still have something to look forward to. Everyone was very happy Way to pay it forward
I attended a halloween carnival last night setup for residents their patients were provided a band to play live music games were setup for general public as well as residents. The amazing part was that several of the residents were hooked up to machines but were still abl

The care the residents receive here is one of indifference-they are short staffed-many of the CNA'S here are indifferent to a resident's special needs--if I had a loved one here I would seriously consider finding another facility--

I was worried at first but I imagine it's hard for any family member to have to see your loved one in a nursing home. I can honestly say that I'm very pleased with the care my husband has been getting...couldn't be happier!!!THANK YOU MERIDIAN

I give this place thumbs down! My mom is there n an aide came in n told us to take my mom outside n visit with her. That there was too many people there it was 4 adults n 3 kids. When we took a tour we asked about how many people can be in the room. They said it didn't matter as long as her roommate was OK wit it. Well we went to talk with the administrator n she told us take our mom n go home! Like really. She was very unprofessional about it.
My father is 72 years old and he went to Meridian Care Center 7181 Crestway Dr, San Antonio, TX 78239 My fathers story goes like this and perhaps it gives YOU something to think about when looking for a place to care for your love one. My father was found outside the facility at 2am (that's right) 2AM by a C.N.A He was then taken back into the nursing home and from 2am-6am we have received different stories as to his condition between those hours. This is what we know for sure 2am found outside-fallen-change in LOC (level of conciseness) unresponsive- pupils large/fixed. Have not been able to wake him up all day after 6am - now. I want to point out that now was at 10pm, thats right for about 16 hours my father was unresponsive. When my father was finally sent to the emergency room he was diagnosed with hematoma and was rushed into emergency surgery. I my father CAN NOT move, speak, and is now confided to a bed. Please think about this and dont send your loved one here.

I recently visited this care center when I went to see a former patient of mine. The lobby was nice and the person at the front desk was kind and professional. But as soon as you walked through the doors into the nursing area you're hit with strong odor of urine. The halls are severely cluttered and the building shows it's age from the inside. Though the staff seemed pleasant the care that I witnessed was below average. This is these peoples home! They have no where else to go or people to care for them and that is why they have chosen this facility. It should be inviting and warm. A place to feel at home in. Not like you're in the hospital for the rest of your life or just another warm body in a bed. I left there feeling so very sad for all those who reside there. My heart went out the each and every one. They all deserve a better place and better living conditions than what they are in.
