BEWARE of KRL Custom Homes (also known as Kyle Lindsey Custom Homes). "Built On Integrity" is the tagline Kyle uses for his business and believe me, integrity is the last thing that characterizes him or his business practices. I hired Kyle Lindsey to build my home and 120 days into the project I still didn't even have a foundation. Kyle Lindsey was not paying his sub contractors although I paid him. After having 3 serious conversations with Kyle on the lack of progress on my home, I had no choice but to fire him and find another builder. After several attempts to come to an amicable separation agreement, Kyle agreed to refund my initial down payment in the form of several checks over a 3 month period. This was all spelled out in a termination agreement document signed and dated by Kyle and me. Kyle could not refund my entire down payment in one check due to the financial problems he stated his company was having and this is the only reason I agreed to give him 3 months to refund my money. When I attempted to cash the first check, I went to Kyle's bank and they said the account had insufficient funds. Later that same morning, I received an email from Kyle stating he stopped payment on the check because he did not have the money to pay me and needed more time. I already gave him a month before the first payment was due. I never heard from Kyle so when I attempted to cash the next check a month later, insufficient funds again and Kyle had issued a stop payment on the check without even telling me. The next month when I attempted to cash the final check, insufficient funds again and Kyle had also issued a stop payment on the final check as well. Looks like this was a simple act of deception and Kyle never intended to refund my month in the first place. This began in April of 2015 and Kyle has yet attempted to contact me to work out arrangements to refund my money. I am only one of many folks Kyle has deceived and taken money from. I have turned Kyle Lindsey Custom Homes into the Better Business Bureau but can only assume he is not taking their call since his rating still shows an A+ on their site. This rating could not be further from the truth.
