Located in San Antonio, the John H. Wood Middle School offers classes from grades six through eight. It offers instruction in elective areas, such as science, social studies, math, technology, computers, physical education, arts and theater. It has various clubs, organizations, societies, bands, orchestra, parent-teacher association and a student s council. It also has a parent portal that helps parents in e-mailing teachers, checking grades, viewing attendance and monitoring food service accounts. Additionally, the John H. Wood Middle School hosts the University Interscholastic League, a Texas' governing body for academic, athletic and extracurricular contests. The school is a part of the North East Independent School District that has an enrollment of more than 60,000 students and operates over 60 educational institutions.
