The way I found Vintage Volvo was in the white pages, under businesses, looking under the letter "v". I prepared myself for the usual large fees charged by most mechanics to tell me what I already knew- that my car had an engine knock-duh! Trust me when I say I ate my words, because this is now the only place I would ever take a volvo. Heres my story...When the gentleman answered I explained my cars newly acquired noise to him, and asked how much he would charge me to diagnose it. He said that he just needed to hear the engine in person, no charge! When I arrived, it was so good to be treated as if my car mattered. Fast, efficient, honest. He also talked highly of other a few other independently operated volvo pros, and I recommend him in all things volvo' He would also be the best authority on what to do when there is a problem. John is a professional, dedicated and thorough restorer, and treats every car as if it were a show car. His knowledge, commitment and dedication are beyond compare, and on top of that he is humble and very easy to get along with. I trust him totally and though he is not fast, he does the job correctly.
