General Info
In his early years as a mechanical engineer, Klug learned the ropes while designing iPad enclosures for big names such as Groupon, Apple, Microsoft, Panera Bread, etc.. With a little bit of patience and a whole lot of dedication, Klug gained valuable insight into the world of product development- the systems, the processes, the discipline. With the taste of success and the resolve to overcome failure, Klug soon decided that designing iPad enclosures was not enough- he wanted to create everything and anything possible. He was ready to expand his horizons and take it to the next level. From there he took the leap of faith. Armed with nothing but a laptop computer, some software, and his own 3-D printer, Klug hit the ground running and never looked back. He started creating his own prototypes from home and cast a wide net- from bike pedals to ski poles to phone accessories- anything under the sun was fair game. He wanted to see as many ideas as possible, help as many people as possible, and make as many dreams come true as possible. Soon, Klug realized that he was able to create anything his heart desired. However, as the successful ones often do early on, Klug reached a plateau. One of the biggest challenges at this stage in the game was failure to launch- he had the clients, he had the drive, but what was missing from the ecosystem was the ability to build a visual identity for the products and to get funding. He needed to create a brand identities and strategic roadmaps for his clients. That was when he decided to bring in business development specialist and entrepreneur Kyle Muir. Kyle’s skill set, combined with help from Kickstarter and private capital, was able to bring in the funding that simply wasn’t available before. Together, the rest of the business was built as a team; Muir with the visual branding, strategy, and distribution sales; and Klug with manufacturing, logistics, and the entrepreneurial eye for intelligent ideas. With that solid foundation, they started churning out project after project and fleshing out the rest of what you know today as Klugonyx Group.
