Salmon-Challis National Forest encompasses an area of more than 4 million acres. The forest offers various recreational opportunities, such as hunting, fishing, rafting, camping and hiking. It serves as a habitat for several fish, animal, plant and bird species. The US Forest Service location in Salmon, Idaho, and provides various volunteer opportunities. It offers maps and brochures, as well as publishes a range of articles on wildlife-related issues. Salmon-Challis National Forest is a part of the US Forest Service, which is an agency of the Department of Agriculture.
