Mary Pennington DO, joined Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital as a Hospitalist in August of 2018. Sometimes called an “inpatient physician”, a hospitalist is a family or primary care physician who focuses exclusively on the care of hospitalized patients. Dr. Pennington earned her medical degree from University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, TX and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. Dr. Pennington completed her geriatric medicine fellowship program at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY and her family medicine residency program at Natividad Medical Center in California. Dr. Pennington grew up in San Antonio, Texas. In her leisure time, Dr. Pennington enjoys hiking, cooking and running with her dog.
