Alexandra Shawo, MD, joined Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital as a Hospitalist in September of 2018. Sometimes called an “inpatient physician”, a hospitalist is a family or primary care physician who focuses exclusively on the care of hospitalized patients. Dr. Shawo earned her medical degree from the University of Nevada, School of Medicine in Reno, NV and a Bachelor degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from University of California at Berkeley in Berkeley, CA. Dr. Shawo completed her Internal Medicine Residency program at University of Nevada Las Vegas in Las Vagas, NV. Dr. Shawo grew up in California. She is fluent in English and Spanish. In her leisure time, Dr. Shawo enjoys yoga, running and spending time with her family and friends.
