His personal athletic interests currently include running (ultramarathons), cycling, weight training, and yoga. This represents a transition from his collegiate football career, where he was honored by the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002. Other interests include nutrition, nature, and family.

Later he attended graduate school for physical therapy at Winston Salem State University where he received his Masters in Physical Therapy. Ethan has a special interest in sports medicine including both acute and chronic conditions. As a member of the team he is works closely with Dr. Kasmer regarding sports medicine patients of all types. His professional interest include manual therapy and preventive care and instruction. His personal interests include sports of all type, working out in local gyms, and spending time with friends and family.
