General Info
Richard graduated from Willamette University College of Law after more than 20 years of enlisted and commissioned service in the United States Navy. For military personnel or their spouses seeking legal help, Richard’s Naval career provides him with a unique insight and understanding of their circumstances. In addition to his military service and legal career, Richard is active in the community in which he lives. He serves as an elected member to Chemeketa Community College’s Board of Education, and has served as the Board’s vice-chairperson & chairperson. Richard also serves as the board chairperson for West Salem High School Band Boosters and as a mentor to Willamette University College of Law students. Finally, Richard has also served with the Salem Sunrise Rotary club, the Rotary Club of Victoria BC, the Victoria Master Gardener Association, chairperson for Monterey Elementary School’s parent advisory committee and as a board member for Salem’s Community Radio Station, KMUZ.During his time in law school, Richard was assistant legal counsel for Willamette University, completed a legal internship for the Oregon Governor’s Office and clerked for The Honorable Judge Susan Tripp. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Oregon State Bar, the Marion and Polk County Bar Associations, a judge and jury facilitator for the Marion County Teen Court, and as a member the Oregon State Bar’s Law School Outreach Committee and Military Assistance Panel.
