The Manager s Office is responsible for the preparation of a recommended budget annually. The office is governed by the City of Salem in Oregon, which administers several departments, such as library, engineering and operations. The City of Salem s government administers a police department that provides crime prevention services, as well as supports the Drug Abuse and Resistance Education program. The city s government has a fleet services division that obtains, maintains and repairs vehicles. It has a human resources department that provides recruitment, selection, compensation and training services. The City of Salem s government also maintains fire, finance and legal departments.
