Consumer & Business Services Department is one of the leading regulatory and consumer protection agencies in Oregon state. Based in Salem, Ore., the department administers state laws, rules and protects consumers and workers in the areas of workers compensation, occupational safety/health, financial services, insurance and building codes. The government operated department's divisions include fiscal/business service, information management, corporate securities and others. Its building codes division provides code development, administration, inspection, plan review, licensing and permit services to the construction industry. Additionally, its workers compensation division caters to customers, including health care providers, service companies, attorneys and insurers, to name a few.
